Jafta Mamabolo Celebrates His Film’s Major Milestone. Congratulations are in order for the star. Jafta Mamabolo has all the reasons to celebrate. In 2018, he made his debut as a writer and director, for the film, Freedom. This film also marked Jafta’s return to acting. In 2020, Freedom, was among the films showing at the Capetown Film Festival.

On more great news, Freedom is now on DStv Box-Office, which means it will be getting all the exposure it deserves. Jafta is excited for this milestone, and it is quite heartwarming to see his growth from being an actor, to now producing his own projects.

Freedom was released in South Africa in late-2020 and was internationally released on Netflix. Part of the cast include talented actress, Samkelo Ndlovu. Jafta also stars in the titular role

Jafta’s first found continental acclaim at age 11 when he landed a lead-role on Soul Buddyz, then Southern Africa’s most-watched youth program. He’s gone on to land several prominent roles on South Africa’s most acclaimed TV shows and films, including but not limited to, Generations (SA’s most-watched program), Jerusalema (South Africa’s official entry for “Best Foreign-Language Film at the 2009 Oscars) and Otelo-Burning, which earned nominations for “Best Actor In A Leading Role” at the AAMA’s and AMVCA Awards (both being Africa’s biggest film awards).

Jafta has also conceptualized and executive-produced the SAFTA (South African Film & Television Awards) winning Mi Kasi Su Kasi, currently SA’s most-watched travelogue. .
