Lasizwe and His Team Raise 1 Million for University Students #R10GOESALONGWAY

Lasizwe and His Team Raise 1 Million for University Students. This is by far the best news of the week. A few days ago, Lasizwe pledged R10 00.00 towards any selected student’s tuition fees. This was in light of the whole Wits University protest that was going on. One of the conditions was that the student who received the money should be willing to be on Lasizwe’s YouTube channel. Unfortunately he was dragged on social media with a lot of tweeps saying he is using students’ plight to grow his brand.

The YouTuber and media personality however, found another way to reach out to students.. He started a campaign with other personalities Sibu Mabena, Takkies and King Aya to raise funds for university students. The #R10GoesALongWay campaign’s ultimate goal was to raise R1m for students in need. The dedicated team kicked off the campaign by depositing money out of their own pockets to motivate SA to donate R10 to the cause. Other celebrities like Bontle Modiselle also pitched in to donate towards the initiative.

Guess what, in just five days, the team has managed to raise a whopping R1 000 000.00! This money will help students to get registered in universities. Now how cool is this!

WE DID IT JOE! We raised R1 000 000.00 for students to get registered in Universities in 5 days!!! We literally did it! Thank you to every single one of you who contributed R10 to this initiative. WE REALLY DID THAT!!” Lasizwe gushed.

It is quite heartwarming how our celebrities are coming though for financially struggling students. Just the other day, Andile Mpisane pledged R200,000 towards students’ university fees.T he Royal AM FC chairman, singer and football player, celebrated his 20th birthday, by announcing that he will be gifting 20 university students that have recurring debt from 2020 with R10 000 towards their fees.

Skeem Saam actor and singer Clement Maosa also did his part. Through his Bakgethwa Foundation, he recently availed himself to assist in paying registration fees for 10 students who are in possession of a institution acceptance and NFSAS approved letter. We are really proud of everything that our celebrities are doing, in order for students to continue with their studies.
