Social Media Reacts to Kelly Khumalo Getting Dropped By Festivals

Social Media Reacts to Kelly Khumalo Getting Dropped By Festivals. The Senzo Meyiwa case is starting to affect Kelly Khumalo‘s profession as a musician. She has been withdrawn from the lineup of the “Maseru Jazz Festival” after being dropped from the “Tribute To Women” music festival on Monday.

This comes after some new developments on the ongoing case. Before Meyiwa was shot and killed at Khumalo residence in Vosloorus, she allegedly received calls from one of the accused, Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli, who is defendant number 5. He allegedly called her twice, according to Colonel Lambertus Steyn of the SAPS National Cold Case Unit, who testified on Thursday, July 27.

Steyn claims that on August 2, 2014, the first call was placed at approximately 10.47 p.m. The information shows that when Khumalo answered the call, she was connected to a transmission tower in Kimberley. It lasted two minutes or so. Just a few days before to the murder, on October 15, 2014, there was a second call. About 98 seconds passed during that call.

This has led to many people who follow the case to believe that Khumalo knows more than she is letting out. They therefore called for her to be cancelled. Some even want the multi-award winning songstress to have her day in court.

Is it okay though for event organizers to cancel her gigs until she is proven innocent for the involvement in Meyiwa’s murder? This is the debate going on on social media. As much as the masses call for her to be cancelled, some are standing in Khumalo’s corner. Her management accuses organizers of being involved in a smear campaign and using her to sell tickets.

Check out some of the comments from social media, as the debate continues.
