Lupita Nyong’o Remembers Chadwick Boseman In A Heartfelt Tribute. On the 28th of August, the world was left in shock, as Chadwick Boseman was announced dead. In 2016, Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer, and died four years later, from complications related to the illness.

He is known for his portrayal of T’Challa / Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from 2016 to 2019. Despite his failing health, Boseman continued to show many that they could reach their wildest goals and dreams. His death touched a lot of people, including Black Panther co-stars, like John Kani, Atandwa Kani and Connie Chiume.

Award winning actress, Lupita Nyong’o, who also starred on Black Panther to honor Boseman. Nyong’o took to social media to reflect on his passing, choosing today to speak out about how much of an impact he had on her life.

Chadwick was a man who made the most of his time and somehow also managed to take his time,” she added. “I didn’t know him for long, but he had a profound effect on me in the time that I did. When we came together to make Black Panther, I remember being struck by his quiet, powerful presence. He had no airs about him, but there was a higher frequency that he seemed to operate from,” she said.
