Dr Malinga Responds to the McLaren Purchase Speculations. One thing about Dr Malinga, he knows how to get people talking. Over the weekend the musician and entrepreneur caused a stir after uploading a video of himself driving a McLaren on social media.

Well there is nothing wrong with seeing one driving such a car, more so when that individual is a celebrity. It is quite normal for celebrities to show off expensive cars, making all of us dream and wish. The thing with Dr Malinga though, is that just recently he went publicly about being broke and having South African Revenue Service come and repossess some of his belongings.

Malinga opened up in a sit down with MacG on his Podcast and Chill podcast. He revealed that SARS contacted him and he was told he owed them more than R2million. Malinga then paid the first R1m and made a monthly payment plan but failed to sustain that. He was all emotional on the interview,m and even cried over how he has fallen from hero to zero financially.

Good Samaritans came to Malinga’s way with contributions to help him take care of his debt. Industry peers such as Black Coffee, Makhadzi, Oskido and the general public assisted him in various ways. After a couple of weeks, Malinga announced that he has been able to pay SARS R100k.

While a lot of people were waiting for an update from Malinga with regards to his outstanding balance with SARS, he shocked them with a video of himself inside a red McLaren sports car and appeared to be having a good time while promoting his latest single, “Ngiyabonga Nkosi”. They quickly jumped to the comment section, wondering if he had purchased an expensive new vehicle.

Malinga then took to Facebook to clarify that the car is not his. He explained that the car belongs to one lady he met at some polo event a while ago. Malinga also stated that even if he had millions to spare he wouldn’t uy a McLaren. Hi main aim at the moment is to grow his bussiness and settle his debt with SARS.
