Most people tend forget that computers aren’t as private and personal as they seem. When most companies hire people they are given their desks and computers to work on, using the company’s WiFi to access and conduct all the work, most people end up using those computers as personal assets.

They give little attention to the fact that the company’s IT department set everything up and go through everything and nothing isn’t recorded. Most people lose their jobs for using work computer’s recklessly.

1.Don’t Save personal passwords in your work device, Most people use work devices almost every hour of every day, they become primary devices. It becomes easy to save your personal password. It is essential to read the company’s policies and procedure as they pertain to internet use and equipment.

2.Don’t make off-color jokes on messaging software, Messages you send on software chat rooms are being kept on a server somewhere and are just as retrievable as emails.

3.Don’t access free public WiFi while working on sensitive information, it may happen that you want to conduct your work in a place where free WiFi Is accessible, try to avoid that. Note that accessing your emails , doing online banking or using credit card accounts when using public WiFi may lead to con artists hacking your details since they can set up networks that looks so real but aren’t.

4.Don’t allow friends or non-IT department colleagues to access your work on a computer. That may lead to many things like having your work stolen or deleted.

5.Don’t store data, avoid storing personal data like music, photos or movies on a computer from work. It is not your property it belongs to the company. Keep it professional. Save your personal data on a USB wand instead.

6.Don’t work on your side hustle while at the office, you may be working 2 or 3 jobs for extra cash that’s a good thing but don’t let them clash. Everything you do can be legally recorded by your employer. That would make you seem as someone who’s incompetent and unreliable and may lead to a job loss because you lack the ability to prioritize.
