Sana Mchunu Makes Her Generations: The Legacy Debut Tonight. A couple of weeks back, Generations: The Legacy announced that they were beefing up their cast. The new faces who joined the SABC1 soapie are Tina Mnumzana, who played Mam’ Flora in The River, Sannah Mchunu from Gomora, Nozuko Ntshangase from Diep City, as well as the veteran Phillip Tipo.

So far, Tina, Nozuko and Phillip have made their debut on the show. Tina plays Ausi Nokwazi Lukhozi, a loud impulsive and spontaneous character. Nozuko is cast as Vuyelwa Nxumalo, the journalist. She is smart, pushy and a straight talker. The private school taught since Grade One and has never been without opportunities. She is hard-working and wants those around her to do the same. The veteran Philip portrays Donald Brave, a hardened survivor shaped by life’s relentless challenges. Fresh from the mines as a zama-zama, Donald is bitter and cunning, yet he harbors a compassionate core.

Sana makes her debut today, taking on the complex role of Sis’Phindi MaNxumalo, a woman of quiet strength and hidden turmoil. Modest and kind, Phindi conceals her guilt and shame behind a protective facade, revealing a sharp edge when provoked. Tonight is the night for viewers to see the multi-award winning actress do her thing on Generations: The Legacy.

Sannah is best known for roles in television series such as eKasi: Our Stories, Muvhango and The River. In 2020, Sana appeared in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Gomora as Zodwa, where her role received critical acclaim. After the show was canned, Sanna joined Showmax series, Youngins. The series, is set at a fictional boarding school named Olifantsfontein High. Sana plays Matron Lulu, in the hit series.
