Unilever: Quality In-Service Traineeship Programme 2016

JOB LOCATION: Pietermaritzburg

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric
  • Studying towards a National Diploma in Food Technology or Biotechnology having Completed or Completing S4 (in 2015) , with a minimum of 60% average

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To ensure that all incoming materials, intermediate products and outgoing packed products meet Unilever standards through the verification and, where necessary, implementation of all relevant standards and site programmes. The candidate will also be responsible for reporting on the verifications conducted. This is with the aim of ensuring that the candidate gains experience within FMCG in order to complete his/her National Diploma.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inbound sampling

In-take and in-use control program for received materials and packaging Manages non-conforming material end to end (supplier non-conformances)

Laboratory support & equipment calibration

Internal calibration of measuring and testing equipment factory

Conduct site quality testing program for received packaging aligned with UL requirements

Co-ordinate monthly GLP audits

SAP QM & Interspec

Utilizes SAP QM and Unilever specifications including Interspec system. Specifically responsible for the close off of Usage Decisions on a weekly basis as related to CRQS Logging of SNCRs as per non-conformance related to materials

HACCP

Verify blending and on-line magnets are cleaned to schedule

Sensory evaluation

Set up of sensory evaluation samples (complaints and FG products) daily Data recording Raising of non-conformances when such are detected

Returns analyst

Analysis and feedback on consumer complaints

Manufacturing Process

Hourly CRQS and general quality verification (e.g. weights) Sends daily summary report to quality peers Capturing of D-incidents on Airsweb

Other

Supports factory hygiene and housekeeping program Supports in internal audits Completes mini projects as allocated by superior Attends and participates in weekly quality meetings
