Applications Open for the Department of Tourism Monitors Programme In Various Provinces. The Department of Tourism is calling on unemployed youth aged 18–35 in the following provinces to apply for the Tourism Monitors Programme:

• Eastern Cape
• Free State
• Gauteng
• KwaZulu-Natal
• Limpopo
• Mpumalanga
• North West
• Northern Cape
• Western Cape

Selection Criteria:

• Unemployed South African citizens with a valid SA ID
• Aged between 18–35
• Have a matric certificate or equivalent
• Added advantage to those with tertiary studies in tourism or environmental fields
• Able to speak and read English
• Live within 40–100km of the site or national park
• Have your own reliable transport (accommodation may be provided if far from the gate)
• Willing to work flexible hours (weekends, public holidays, etc.)
• Love tourism and want to grow in the sector
• Previous TMP participants are not eligible to apply

If shortlisted you may be required to complete a fitness assessment:

• 2.4 km run
• 25 push-ups
• 25 sit-ups which should be done within a specific time frame
