Motswako’s First Lady Fifi Cooper Talks About Being Real

Refilwe Boingotlo Mooketsi , professionally and popularly known as Fifi Cooper has set the record straight about who she is and don’t get her wrong, she says she is the real deal. Fifi Cooper started her music career as an R&B singer before her musical versatility saw her release her breakthrough rap single “Chechella Morao” in 2010. FiFi Cooper is a pint-size talent that’s making big waves in the entertainment industry.

Her mom, Miriam Mooketsi, says she has fond memories of Fifi and her dad performing for the family and that she realised then that she had a “special gift”.

She even called Fifi when she walked on stage to accept her Metro FM Music Award earlier this year, forgetting it was a live broadcast and teeming with excitement.

DRUM visited Fifi at her home in Montshiwa, Mahikeng, where she chills with her family, who are the most important people in her life. Fame hasn’t gotten to her head and she doesn’t put on any airs and graces.

She says her family makes her stay grounded and that she will always remain “real” to her fans.

“I don’t like selling people dreams, my fans deserve to know me. I am being real every day and I always tell the truth,” she says.

She’s single and focusing on her career and her son, Resego, is the only man in her life.
