Introduction

Altech ISIS is looking for a Trainee Systems Analyst in Cape Town.

Altech ISIS is an African customer management solutions provider and systems integrator who work with some of the leading companies in Africa and abroad. We are a division of Altech Information Technologies (Pty) Ltd, which in turn forms part of the Altech Group (publicly traded on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange).

Job Function

• Creating, Facilitating new features required by our client and providing production support

Responsibilities

• Business and Systems analysis under close mentorship
• Problem solving and Diagnostic work
• Forming an integral part of the systems development life cycle
• Starting to understand the business issues and data challenges of client’s organisation and industry
• Creating User Requirement Specifications for new features required by clients, under close supervision
• Reviewing and editing requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution
• Involvement in functional / technical design sessions with the development teams
• Taking responsibility during the development life cycle to resolve any business related issues
• Performing integration testing to ensure that solution for new feature is functioning in integrated system environment and supporting testing efforts
• Providing production support (3rd line) for Helpdesk calls on business related issues, under close mentorship
• Taking ownership to ensure new product features are delivered successfully
• Providing progress reports
• Ensuring issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner
• Applying project standards and project methodologies of ISIS
• Consistently delivering high quality service to clients

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• 0-3 years’ experience in IT (graduates will be considered)
