Scandal Spoilers: Why Is Masasa Mbangeni Leaving?

Thembeka might not have many scandals left in her life. Actress Masasa Lindiwe Mbangeni announced last week that she has been let go from ETV’s popular soapie “Scandal.” Masasa has made it clear that the decision to leave the soapie was solely hers as she wants to explore the acting field more.  In an interview with Destiny onnect, Masasa said, “The decision came because I felt the exceptional need to jump. I’ve always had dreams of wanting to explore every facet of my acting self and I feel that taking a leap of faith would be the best choice for me right now.”

The talented actress says the biggest lesson she learnt from the soapie was  perseverance.

“When I came from varsity into Scandal! I was an extra – this is after four years of doing a drama degree. So coming from that and then becoming an extra was a big deal and a big lesson for me. But I learnt that if you believe in your dream, you’ll get it. It might take four minutes or 40 years, but through perseverance you’ll eventually get it.”

Masasa says she is at peace with her decision to leave. “I have no resentment towards it. Of course I’m scared, of course I’m excited, of course I’m nervous – but my soul is well. All is alright with me, and if there’s any lesson I’d want anyone to learn from this it’s that as long as your soul’s okay with you, as long as when you meet your Maker one day, you can say I’ve used all my gifts up. Then we would all live fulfilled lives.”
