Thami Ngubeni Bids Farewell to Newzroom Afrika. As one of the employees who started off with the news channel, Thami Ngubeni is part of history. She has been with Newzroom Afrika, since its launch in 2019. The channel is one of the most prominent 24hour news channels in the country, and Thami is one of the best media personalities we have.

Sadly even good things do come to an end, so has Thami’s journey with Newzroom Afrika. On their farewell note, the channel stated that Thami has played a major role in their journey, They went on to wish the talented actress, writer and media personality nothing but the best in her future career path. Thami on the other hand expressed major gratitude at having been part of the channel. She also wished them growth in the industry.

Thami’s consistency in the industry is quite admirable. She started way back by acing in major shows such as the television drama series Molo Fish, Generations, Going Up and Suburban Bliss. Thami has also appeared as Sabina Siko in the 2004 film, Critical Assignment. She then went on to play a lead role in the drama series Known Gods (2006). In 2007 Thami had a starring role as Dr. Ingrid Nyoka in the medical television series Jozi-H.

Thami is also an author of note and wrote and co-published a book, My Sacred Spaces, with Penguin Books. She also owns her the media company, Tamzin, that creates and produces media for Radio, Film, Television, and Print.

One of her biggest achievements was when she was appointed as the editor of The Oprah Magazine in South Africa back in 2007. Thami also hosted her own show, The Scarlet Lounge, in 2011 and also wrote for the magazine show, Top Billing, as well as the game show, Family Fortunes.

She has also been a newsreader and the host of her own shows on Metro FM including an entertainment and motivational show, The Sacred Space. Thami is also known internationally, and while spending time in LA, she worked as a DJ at the American Radio Network.
