THE SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE SERVICE is recruiting various positions:

The generic minimum requirements applicable to the posts HRU 19/2014 to HRU 21/2014 except where it is specified differently, are as follows:

Applicants must display competency in the post-specifi c core functions
Be fluent in at least two of the offi cial languages, of which one must be English
Be in possession of applicable Senior Certifi cate (Grade 12) or at least a completed SAQA accredited NQF 4 qualifi cation
Be a South African Citizen
Must have no criminal record or pending criminal / departmental or civil cases
Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening and fingerprint verification
Be able to render at least ten (10)years of pensionable service
Two (2) years appropriate / relevant experience in the core functions of the post will be an advantage
The completion of internship in the Public Service may serve as an advantage.
1. Admin Clerk (x1) – (Public Service Act)
Component: Labour Relations
Section: Career Development
Salary Level: Level 5 – R 115 212.00 per annum (Ref No: HRU 19/2014)

Core Functions:

Type documents, administer correspondence and filing
Administer logistical matters e.g requisition of stationery and equipment’s
Maintain room inventories
Maintain leave records, registers and files
Arrange traveling and subsistence allowance for personnel of the Section • Administer telephone accounts for the section.
2. Admin Clerk (x1) – (Public Service Act)
Component: Performance Management
Section: Performance Systems
Salary Level: Level 5 – R 115 212.00 per annum (Ref No: HRU 20 /2014)

Core Functions:

Ensure record keeping of all incoming and outgoing documents within
the Section
Type, fax and distribute correspondence and documents within the section
Keep, maintain records and filling system within the Section
Administer logistical and related matters
Maintain leave record, registers and files
Arrange traveling and subsistence allowance for personnel of the Section.
3. Admin Clerk (x1) – (Public Service Act)
Component: Performance Management
Section: Career Path
Salary Level: Level 5 – R 115 212.00 per annum (Ref No: HRU 21/2014)

Core Functions:

Keep, maintain records and filling system within the section
Administer logistical and related matters
Maintain leave record, registers and files
Arrange traveling and subsistence allowance for personnel of the section.
4. General Worker (x1) – (Public Service Act)
Section: Support Service
Sub – Component: Human Resource Management
Salary Level: Level 1 – R 63 135.00 per annum (Ref No: HRU 22/2014)

Requirements:

A Grade 10 qualification
Basic Literacy, numeracy and communication skills
Be able to read and write
The ability to operate elementary machines and equipment
Be willing to work extended hours, when necessary.
Core Functions:

Maintain high level of hygiene in and around the workplace with the cleaning of the SAPS premises assigned to, which may include either or both inner and outer parameters
Perform tasks of a routine nature, dust the working environment
Polish Furniture and floors
Vacuum carpets and mopping of tile floors and stairs
Remove refuse
Perform maintenance task in and around the assigned premises
Clean bathrooms and kitchens
Safekeeping and handling of a variety of Aids in the cleaning of the premises
Loading and unloading
Garden maintenance services
Washing and cleaning of state vehicles.

Only the official SAPS application form (available on the SAPS website [download here] and at SAPS recruitment offices) will be accepted. All instructions on the application form must be adhered to. Failure to do so may result in the rejection of the application.
The post particulars and reference number of the post must be correctly specified on the application form.

A separate application form must be completed for each post (as no copies of the application form will be made).
An original application form and CV be submitted, copies will not be accepted.
Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae must be submitted; together with the application form copies will not be accepted.
Certified copies (certifi cation preferably by Police Offi cers) of an applicant`s ID document, Senior Certifi cate and all educational qualifi cation (s) obtained and service certifi cates of previous employers stating the occupation and the period, proof of relevant experience in the fi eld of the post, must also be submitted and attached to every application.
The copies must be correctly certifi ed on the copy itself, not at the back. The certification must not be older than three months.
Applicants are requested to initial each page of the application form, CV and annexures.

All qualifications and drivers’ licences submitted will be subjected to verification checking with the relevant institutions. The South African Police Service will verify the residential address of applicants and conduct reference checks.
The CV must contain full particulars of all boards on which an applicant serves, remunerated work outside the public service, career promotions / appointments, career development, career history, current studies and qualifications.

Applications must be mailed timeously. Late applications will not be accepted or considered.
If a candidate is Short-listed, it can be expected of him/her to undergo a personal interview as well as a practical assessment
