Ntombi Mzolo’s Baby Recovering After A Heart Surgery
One of a parent’s worst nightmares is finding out that their child is unhealthy in the womb. You can take that heartbreak to the next level when you learn they have a potentially heart failure. This is how Ntombi Mzolo felt when her doctor told her that her unborn baby’s left part of the heart is underdeveloped.
A few weeks ago, the TV presenter explained that at seven months pregnant, her son had been diagnosed with a rare heart condition called, Hypoplastic left heart syndrome. At the time of the diagnosis, Ntombi said doctors gave her the option of terminating the pregnancy, but it was something she did not want to do, instead saying that she would leave the decision to God.
The hopeful Ntombi was then admitted to hospital and gave birth to her “miracle baby” on Monday but was not being able to take her son home. She announced the news on social media with this touching message, remaining positive about her son’s condition. She wrote on instagram: “#MiracleBabyMzolo was born this morning just after 8am and was immediately sent to icu. I only got to see him for about 2mins, I will spend more time with him tomorrow. #livingbyfaith #blessedchildofgod
The Shikisha presenter’s miracle baby went straight into theatre on Monday for surgery in an attempt to save his life. The surgery is known to have a very low success rate, with only 2/10 babies known to survive. But Ntombi’s son’s surgery was a success and he is recovering miraculously. He is truly is a miracle baby!
