10 Ways To Stand Up For Yourself

One important part of self regard is feeling that you have a “voice”, that you have the right to be listened to and heard in a way that helps you have some control over what happens in your life. When you can speak up and stand up for yourself, you are, in effect, saying to yourself and the world, “I am a significant person whose ideas and words are worthy of respect”. It is all possible and this is how you can win your power back……

1. Be confident

You know what confident people look like, the advantages they get, and that it’s something worth emulating. Groom yourself, Dress nicely, Photoshop your self-image, Think positive, Kill negative thoughts, Get to know yourself andAct positive.

2. Set goals

Goal setting is an important method of deciding what you want to achieve in your life. Instead of setting life goals, think about setting a life direction. Figure out the things that would create a fun, meaningful, compelling journey.

3. Have a good attitude

Life is a lot easier and more enjoyable when you have a positive mental attitude. We all want a happy life, and we all know that having a positive attitude feels better

4. Don’t play victim
We all get caught in the victim-trap from time to time. Feeling like we’ve been wronged; like we were right and they were …. well, I’m sure we can complete the sentence with lots of words. It’s true, being a victim is not an uncommon stance to take in this world.
5. Avoid feelings of insecurity

People feel bad when they feel insecure because its commonly believed that insecurity is a bad emotion that has no useful role in improving ones life. However when taking a closer look at the cause of insecurity you will find that insecurity is just a message  sent by your brain trying to tell you one of the following things: I am not sure of my ability to do this task, I think I might be moving in the wrong direction or I might lose what I already have.

6. Be grounded
Being grounded means being fully conscious and fully present in the NOW moment…..being very, very aware of what is happening to us in the present. When we are conscious and aware of our SELF and grounded in the NOW we are able to ground the love and light from our higher self. This means that no matter what is going on, we stay balanced, centered and aligned with our soul and higher self
7. Face your fears
Take a moment to consider what your life might be like if you conquered some of your greatest fears. What would you do differently? Rather than sit on the sidelines and let your fears control your life, make some changes in your life to face your fear and live a more fulfilled life.
8. Know who you are

We tend to underestimate the importance of knowing ourselves. Many of us go through each day reacting to events and just getting by rather than making conscious choices based on who we are and what we want. When we don’t know where we are headed it’s hard to set goals, get motivated and determine the best course of action. So, take some time to get to know yourself.

9. Be proud of yourself
Be proud of yourself for doing the best you can with what you have and under the circumstances you are in. Be aware and proud when you’re making good decisions for yourself on a daily basis. Being proud of yourself is also known as having strong self-esteem.
10. Always know you matter
You exist for a purpose, so you matter. How you feel matters and don’t ever compromise that for anything else. No one has the right to make you feel down without your permission.
