Facebook Founder Speaks About What He Considers When Hiring
Mark Zuckerberg shared his rule for hiring this week at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona this week. You might want to pay attention to what he has to say on hiring employees considering he’s a 30 year old with a net worth of $35billion.
After an audience member asked why he hand-picked Facebook’s chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg, Zuckerberg replied in the simplest but most significant way. “I will only hire someone to work for me if i would work for that person”, he said.
“It’s a pretty good test and it has served me well.” said Zuckerberg.
Referring to Sandberg, the facebook founder said he considered her as a mentor who has been instrumental in building facebook into a business and healthy organization. He also went on to say that he and his team look for people whose values align with the company’s.
Zuckerberg gave the audience some advice saying the most important thing is to have faith in yourself and trusting yourself. “Don’t discount yourself no matter what you are doing, everyone has a unique perspective that they can bring to the world”, he said.
