Introduction
Transnet Ports Terminals (TPT) in Cape Town has a posiion for an Engineering Technician-in-Training, to undergo a formal training programme for individual development within the Operations Department. This advert is open to unemployed graduates
Position outputs:
On completion of the progamme the following outputs will be required to be met:
• Development of effective Operations plan.
• Optimal utilisation of operational resources, i.e. manpower and equipment.
• Integration of Terminal operations within the Port.
• Management of operational costs.
• Establish and maintain customer relations.
• Optimisation of human resources.
• Implementation and application of modeling tools to determine performance and forecast.
• Manage operations in compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental management systems.
• Change Management methodology and tools
• Project Management
Qualifications & Experience:
• B. Degree / ND (Industrial Engineering/ Logistics Management/Production Management);
• Previous work experience such as vacation work will be an added advantage but not a determining factor.
