Entries for Miss South Africa 2026 Officially Open. The announcement that many have been waiting for has landed. The Miss South Africa organization has just opened entries for their next title holder. This is the chance for beauty queen hopefuls to take their chances and show the nation what they have. Eligibility
- An applicant must be at least 20 years old and be under 32 years of age as of 30 September 2026. This means that an applicant may turn 32 within her year of reign.
- The applicant must be a South African citizen and be in lawful possession of a valid South African ID document, being either: the old green barcoded ID book; or
the new smart ID card (copies of both the front and the back of the card must be submitted). - Should the applicant not have a South African identity document, they will be required to provide additional documentation, including but not limited to a birth certificate or other documentation issued by the Department of Home Affairs to confirm lawful South African citizenship, proving their South African citizenship. Applicants who hold dual citizenship must disclose such status and provide details of all nationalities held.
- The applicant is required to be in possession of a valid driver’s license.
- The applicant may not have been placed as a Finalist in the preceding year. The applicant may not have been placed as a runner-up within the two preceding pageant years. The applicant may not have previously won Miss South Africa or held the title of Miss South Africa in previous years.
- The applicant should have no criminal record and must be truthful in respect of all matters relating to the run-up to the competition, the competition itself, and the period thereafter.
- There are no restrictions in terms of the applicant’s marital status or parental status.
- There are no restrictions in terms of tattoos or piercings that the applicant may have.
- The applicant must be able to represent and warrant that they have not been involved in any unsavory or unethical incidents or conduct that may bring the organizers or the competition into disrepute, as determined by the organizers in their sole and absolute discretion. Unsavory or unethical conduct shall include, but is not limited to, racism, bribery, sexism, bullying and/or defamation. Any determination in this regard will be made reasonably and in good faith, taking into account applicable law and the applicant’s right to procedural fairness.
- Applicants who progress to the next round of the competition will be required to familiarize themselves with and abide by a contestant handbook containing all relevant information, rules, dates, and obligations prior to commencing participation in the competition.
- In the event that any false or misleading information of whatsoever nature is submitted by the applicant, the Organization may, in its sole discretion, take any action it deems appropriate, including, without limitation, disqualification from participating in the Miss South Africa 2026 competition and/or termination of the applicant’s status as titleholder or runner-up, where applicable. Such false or misleading information may include, but is not limited to, false identification, misrepresentation of citizenship, inaccurate or falsified educational qualifications, undisclosed criminal history, failure to disclose contractual obligations, or any omission or misrepresentation of material information relevant to the applicant’s eligibility and participation in the competition.
- Applicants to Miss South Africa 2026 are required to participate in Miss South Africa’s reality competition television series, The Journey to Miss South Africa as part of the competition process leading up to the finale event and crowning of Miss South Africa 2026. The applicant acknowledges and agrees that their participation may be recorded, documented, and distributed across Miss South Africa’s social and digital platforms, as well as shared with media outlets, subject to applicable broadcasting, labor, and intellectual property laws.
- Should the applicant proceed to the next round, the applicant may be required to attend and/or support certain objectives as determined by the Miss South Africa Organization, which may include online or physical attendance at sponsor events and workshops. Should the applicant proceed to the next round, the applicant will therefore not be permitted to enter into any competition or contractual arrangements that may conflict with the timelines of the competition, including pre-competition activities, filming of the television series, and the pageant. Applicants must avoid any conflict of interest and take steps to suspend any pre-existing contractual obligations where necessary.
- Immediate family members of the Miss South Africa Organization, its related group companies or foundations, as well as any sponsor, production company, broadcaster, advertising agency, auditor, or supplier associated with the competition, are not eligible to enter the competition.
- Applicants who progress to the next round of the competition will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement. All official communication received from the Miss South Africa Organization following submission of an application must be treated as strictly confidential. Any breach of this confidentiality will result in automatic disqualification.
- The Organization reserves the right to disqualify any applicant and/or person who proceeds to the next round who in the Organization’s sole discretion does not satisfy eligibility requirements.
