Nomzamo Mbatha Speaks Up for A Domestic Violence Victim Fighting for Her Life In ICU

Nomzamo Mbatha Speaks Up for A Domestic Violence Victim Fighting for Her Life In ICU. Gender-based violence is indeed a pandemic in our country. Not a day goes by without serious reports of assault and murder incidents, with victims mostly being women.

To bring the much needed attention to gender-based violence the Woman for Change SA organization initiated The Purple Movement. Women across the country were encouraged to silence the nations on Friday, 21 November 2025. This saw any refrain from all paid and unpaid work in workplaces, universities, homes, and communities. Many celebrities showed their solidarity by changing their profile pictures to purple.

Sadly, no matter what organizations and individuals try to do, South African women are still living in fear. One trending at the moment, is celebrity hairstylist Snenhlanhla Mthembu. She is currently in ICU, with burnt wounds on her face and body. Apparently she was trying to fight for her freedom after silently enduring years of domestic abuse. Sne’s story caught the attention of many, among them her close associate, Nomzamo Mbatha. She spoke vehemently against what Sne has gone through at the hands of her partner. The multi-award winning activist and media personality has thus asked for the perpetrator to be arrested with immediate effect.

My blood is boiling. My heart is broken. And I am LIVID.
