Enough is Enough! Boity Thulo Joins the Women Shutdown March to Demand An End to GBV

Enough is Enough! Boity Thulo Joins the Women Shutdown March to Demand An End to GBV. The day many have been looking forward to, has finally arrived. The Woman for Change SA organization has staged a purple protest over gender violence. Women across the country have been urged to silence the nations on Friday, 21 November 2025.
All women and members of the LGBTQI+ community across the country are asked to refrain from all paid and unpaid work in workplaces, universities, homes, and communities. This is to demonstrate the economic and social impact of their absence. Those who took part in the marches across the country were asked to lie down for 15 minutes at 12:00 in honour of the 15 women who are murdered in the country every day. The “lie downs” happened in 15 locations across South Africa, including major cities such as Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
A number of celebrities have also shown their solidarity in the movement. Many of them did so by changing their profile pictures to purple. Among those are Mbalenhle Mavimbela, Bonang Matheba, Loot Loove, Enhle Mbali, Sandile Dlamini, DJ Zinhle, Karabo Mareka, Ipeleng Selepe and many more. Some also shared moving posts about gender based violence on their social media. Some like Boity Thulo and Amanda duPont went an extra mile by joining in the marches. Both ladies posted on their social media platforms to show just how mush they are against GBV in the country.
“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We march for every woman who couldnβt. South African women are shutting it down for the ones who never made it home. ππππβπΎβπΎβπΎβπΎ
