Job Overview
The Shop Assistant/Cashier will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining store operations. You will handle point-of-sale transactions, restock shelves, assist customers, and keep the store clean and organized. Key Responsibilities

Cashier Duties

• Operate cash registers efficiently and accurately.
• Process customer purchases with professionalism and accuracy.
• Provide friendly and helpful customer service at all times.
• Assist with store cleaning, tidying displays, and maintaining neat merchandise areas.
• Report any inventory losses, scanning errors, or product issues to management.
• Participate in stock counts and ensure stock accuracy.
• Follow all cash-handling policies to reduce losses and errors.

Shop Assistant Duties

• Replenish shelves and ensure products are properly displayed.
• Follow merchandising planograms to maintain organized and appealing displays.
• Organize new inventory and handle packaging materials safely.
• Follow store safety procedures to ensure a secure work environment.
• Support team members to maintain efficient store operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of Grade 12 qualification.
• Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred.
• Ability to perform basic cleaning and stock control duties.
• Cashier experience or the ability to operate a till efficiently is an advantage.
• Knowledge of store operations and merchandising practices preferred.
