“A Love Letter to Every Person Who Has Ever Questioned Their Beauty,” Kayise Ngqula On Her Glamour Magazine Cover. Often at time, women are judged by their outward appearance as opposed to who they really are. Sadly many have little or no control over how they look physically, making the whole judgement thing totally unfair.
Having noted that though, society is now changing, and accepting everyone as they are. Recently, Glamour magazine led the way, by celebrating women beyond their physical appearance. In the publication Leleti Khumalo, Kayise Ngqula and Chantel Struwig share their journeys of embracing their skin with confidence.
Everyone of the three ladies, live with challenges, but have not let them affect their livelihoods. Mam’ Leleti has vitiligo, a condition that destroys skin pigment cells, causing the loss of skin color in blotches. Kayise’s life changed in June 2019, after a car crash, and now she is living with scars. Chantel was born with a birthmark on her face, and still lives positively.
The trio are the cover stars of Glamour SA digital issue. Taking to her Instagram, Kayise took a moment to inspire, teach and appreciate.
“This cover is more than just an image—it’s a declaration. A love letter to every person who has ever questioned their beauty, their worth, their place in the world.
To stand here, alongside the phenomenal @leletikhumalo and @chantelstruwig is to stand in the power of our stories, our resilience, and our truth. Beauty is not a single narrative—it is layered, complex, and deeply personal. It is found in the way we rise, the way we embrace ourselves fully, and the way we make space for others to do the same.
Thank you, @glamour_sa, for this celebration of authenticity, diversity, and the beauty of change. May we continue to rewrite the standards and walk boldly in our own light,” Kayise said.
