Z’bondiwe Returns to e.tv. Fans of the e.tv drama series will be happy to note that it is returning back to the channel. As of Monday 02 December, Z’bondiwe will start airing daily at 8:30.
Z’bondiwe is set in Soweto, Gauteng, and follows the story of two lovers. They are drawn into a dark underworld of gangsterism and have to answer the question of how far one is willing to go for someone close to their heart.The series offers a glimpse into both the psychological aspects of gangster life and the emotional dynamics of two lovers who have to beat the odds to stay together.
It stars Zola Nombona as Roxanne, a business school graduate. Her boyfriend Ntando played by Anga Makubalo, is a lawyer. When he gets an offer at the biggest law firm in Johannesburg, Roxanne is less than pleased to leave Cape Town for the City of Gold. Soon her darkest secret is revealed: her ex-lover is Killer (Mbulelo Grootboom), the leader of the most notorious gang in Jo’burg – The Vutha Boys. Killer is obsessed with Roxanne and kidnaps her as soon as she arrives. Now, Ntando is forced to join a rival gang, the Mambas, to try and save the love of his life.
Other key cast members include, Bongani Maseko as Axe Ngcobo, Eve Rasimeni as Dikeledi, the late Mpho Sebeng as Lebo and Israel Makoe who plays Jakes Masilo. Season two came with additional taleng among them Tango Ncetezo playing Nomonde, Thabang Matlala killing the Andile role, and the legendary Charmaine Mtinta as Thembi. Season III, the legendary Peter Se-Puma was roped in as Melusi Shenge. Also added were Paballo Moganedi as Yandisa Mdoda, Shamilla Miller playing Hilda Miller, and Khumbulani Khuzwayo as Myekeni.
