Somizi Calls Out Netflix for Doing Olympic Champion Letsile Tebogo Dirty On their Documentary

Somizi Calls Out Netflix for Doing Olympic Champion Letsile Tebogo Dirty On their Documentary. Just recently, the second part of doc series SPRINT, premiered on Netflix. This gave athletic fanatics to once again, relive the magic of the 2024 Olympic games.

It goes without saying that one of the biggest winners in the track was Letsile Tebogo. The Botswana national came as an underdog, looking at the fact that in some races, he was competing against such champions like Noah Lyles. The American track and field star, won the highly contested and interesting 100m race, with Letsile coming 6th. From the look of things, Noah was going to be the star of the 2024 Olympics.

His winning streak was however, short lived when Tebogo claimed the 200m race, winning the first Gold Olympic medal for his country. Noah came 3rd, something that shocked the world. Tebogo was celebrated around the world, for what he did for Botswana and Africa. Even here in South Africa, he was celebrated by many including the likes of Bonang Matheba, Anele Mdoda and Somizi Mhlongo.

Tebogo’s win, was however overshadowed by Noah’s COVID 19 diagnosis. This did not sit well with many people, among them Somizi. He took to social media stating that they are now taking the attention away from Tebogo.

A simple congratulations wud have been just fine. But now the attention must still be about him having covid and that being the reason for his loss. Hayi Shem,” Somizi said.

Now with the SPRINT documentary out, the focus is back on Noah. It was mainly about him bagging a medal, despite suffering Covid19. Even Tebogo himself tweeted that, it’s an American affair. Somizi also pitched in saying that Netflix downplayed Telbogo’s victory.

As a huge supporter of @tebogo_letsile_ I was not happy shemm with how they downplayed his victory on @netflixsa SPRINT,” Somizi said.
