Gayton McKenzie Pledges to Support Makhadzi’s One Woman Show In A Major Way
Gayton McKenzie Pledges to Support Makhadzi’s One Woman Show In A Major Way. He is going to go down history as one of the coolest and most hardworking Ministers we have ever had in the country. Gayton McKenzie has been doing wonders in the few months that he has been the Minister of Sport Arts and Culture.
To start with, McKenzie won hearts when he published the list of Covid-19 Financial Beneficiaries. The controversial list had all artist, creatives and sports people who received funding during the Covid-19 pandemic. There were some interesting names, among them, Mohale Motaung and MacG, who both received R75k. Arthur Mafokate and his son AJ got 20k each from the relief fund.
He also took the decision to stop all the super fansβ trips. These fans used to accompany different sports code nationally and internationally at their games. McKenzie wants the money to be used for struggling artists instead. The Minister is also fully invested in many sporting codes, including those not so popular. He also engages with creatives and the general public on Twitter (X). Leading by example, McKenzie also advocates for healthy leaving by running.
He has now pledged to come through for the BET award-winning Makhadzi, on her upcoming One Woman Show. The festival will take pace at Peter Mokaba Stdium on December 21st. McKenzie shared he will attend the show himself, as well as buy 200 tickets for fans.
“I will be there and will buy 200 tickets for those that wants to accompany me to Peter Mokaba to see one of our most biggest stars in the world,” Gayton said.
