Waiter x3 Posts Open at the University of the Free State.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare tables for service as per the restaurant standard.
- Greet and escort customers to their tables.
- Present the menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies).
- Inform customers about the day’s specials.
- Offer menu recommendations upon request Take accurate food and drinks orders.
- Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff Serve food and drinks.
- Up-sell additional products when appropriate.
- Deliver checks and collect bill payments.
- Clearing and cleaning of tables.
- Restock of items in the front of house.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests.
- Following health code standards with regards to the handling of food.
- Making and serving of variety of coffees to a high standard.
- Assist with events and functions, including setting up and rearranging of tables.
- Perform other duties as required by Housing and Residence Affairs.
- Available to work on weekends and after hours if required.
Inherent Requirements:
- Grade 12 or National Vocational Certificate on NQF Level 4.
Recommendations:
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a waiter.
- Knowledge of Point-of-Sale System.
- Experience as a Barista.
