Eddie Zondi’s Family Celebrate His Legacy With A Music Event to Mark 10 Years Since His Passing. It has been 10 years since South Africa lost one of its most talented radio personalities and music composer. Although that’s the case, Eddie Zondi’s legacy still lives on.

He passed away in 16 June 2024, after suffering a heart attack aged 47. The much-loved METRO FM presenter was known for hosting the popular The Romantic Repertoire on Sundays from 3pm to 6pm, which featured R ‘n’ B classics. Zondi also released four compilation CDs, entitled Zondi’s Romantic Ballads. This coming June 16, will be a decade since Zondi’s passing.

His daughter Keletso Modiba, better known as Lula Odiba has followed in his footsteps as a radio host. She currently hosts The Lunch League on YFM, as well as Groove on Channel O. The award winning radio presenter, MC and DJ, has just announced a music event curated to honor her father’s legacy. Among those in the line up are Wilson B Nkosi, Tbose Mokwele, Paul Mtirara, Amon Mokoena, Lula and many more. Koketso Molefe is the MC for the day.

The event will take place at Soweto Meat Lovers on June 16 from 11am.
