Penny Lebyane Shares Her Salary Woes As A Radio Presenter
Penny Lebyane Shares Her Salary Woes As A Radio Presenter. On Monday, Penny Ntuli took to social media to announce that she won’t be renewing her contract at Gagasi FM. This comes after the two parties couldn’t reach an agreement on her salary.
According to Penny, she was offered R2 800, which is a slight increase from what she has been getting in the past two years. This sparked a conversation on social media, with a lot of people shocked at the news Penny shared. One of those who joined the conversation is Penny Lebyane, a veteran radio personality.
Penny shared that radio is painful, more so for women. This according to Penny, even applies to the most talented women personalities. Speaking about her current salary, the media personality said its quite a shocker. She also added that even her salary back at METRO FM, was not even above R30k. What even more saddening is that her co-hosts were earning more than her. Sadly as this is the radio shuffle season, no personality can stand with Penny, for fear of upsetting the powers that be.
Radio is painful but even harder for women no matter how talented you are especially on #BlackRadio it's actually better when u are not talented to make a quick buck since the #ItGirls and #Influencer Era… #EqualPay for #EqualWork on Radio #PennyNtuli
