Riky Rick Remembered With Touching Tributes 2 Years After His Passing. Two years ago on this day, South Africa received the heartbreaking news that Riky Rick had passed away. The culture icon and rapper passed away on 23 February 2024, at the young age 34 while he still had a lot to offer.
His last tweet read, “I’ll return a stronger man. This land is still my home.” These are the words from his heartwarming song “Home.”
The cause of death was reported as suicide after a lengthy battle with depression. Although he is no more, Riky is still very much part of many people’s lives, and they do all they can to honor his legacy.
