Heartfelt Tributes Pour In for Zahara
Heartfelt Tributes Pour In for Zahara. Monday evening, the news of Zahara‘s passing made shocking waves on social media. When many were looking forward for her to pull through, she lost the battle to her sudden sickness.
A month ago, the multi-award winning singer and songwriter was in good spirits, as she celebrated her 36th birthday. To mark the milestone, Zahara took her growth as God’s grace, mercy and kindness. She also thanked among others her family, friends and fans all over the world, for sticking by her throughout the years.
Zahara also had a lot to be thankful for this year. Back in March, she announced that she and her partner Mpho Xaba were engaged. After about six months of dating, the two decided to take their relationship to the nest level. Being the romantic type Mpho took Zahara by surprised when he popped out a customized engagement ring with family and friends as witnesses. He did all this with the help of Zahara’s assistant Lisa, without his woman suspecting a thing. Sadly though, Zahara lost her life before her much anticipated big day.
She has been hospitalized for about two weeks, with reports that she had Cirrhosis, which is severe scarring of the liver. Unfortunately Zahara lost the battle, and passed away on Monday at the age of 36. Tributes from leaders, her peers in the industry and fans across the world continue to pour in.
I am very saddened by the passing of @ZaharaSA. My deepest condolences to the Mkutukana family and the South African music industry. Government has been with the family for some time now. Zahara and her guitar made an incredible and lasting impact in South African music. pic.twitter.com/1a402aQfLs
