Sivenathi Mabuya Grateful for Having Been Part of Shaka iLembe. Shaka iLembe, the highly acclaimed South African historical drama series delves into the life and times of one of the most iconic figures in African history, Shaka Zulu. The show explores Shaka’s rise to power as the founder of the Zulu Kingdom and his complex relationships with both his allies and enemies. Even before the drama series premiered, it was the talk of town. Billboards, TV ads made everyone wait with baited breath for over a year. When Shaka iLembe finally landed, it did not disappoint. Every cast member brought their A-Game, leaving viewers always asking for more after each episode. New comers also showed why the deserve to rub shoulders with the legends cast in the series. Interestingly, there were no ads in the first episode, which ran from start to finish with no interruptions.
One cast member who gave it her all, is the talented Sivenathi Mabuya. She played the role of Mkabi ka Sodubo on Shaka iLembe, which she executed very well. Mkabi was one of chief Senzangakhona’s wives. Mkabi did not have a big storyline, but from the little we got, it is evident that she was one iconic woman. Sive, who got the honor to play the role, is grateful for the opportunity. She regards it as one of the best experiences of her life, which she will cherish forever.
