Redi Tlhabi Bags A Degree and Credits it to Her Late Bestie Eusebius McKaiser. Losing a best friend is one of the worst experiences to go through. Redi Tlhabi knows the pain very well, as she lost her good friend Eusebius McKaiser a few months back.
The well-known broadcaster, author and political analyst passed away in May at his Sandton home, aged 44. His untimely death was confirmed by his manager, Jackie Strydom. McKaiser is said to have died after suffering a suspected epileptic seizure.
At his memorial service, veteran radio personality Tlhabi paid a touching tribute to McKaiser, who was her friend. She mentioned that he fought his illness with courage. Tlhabi said McKaiser did not share moments of his hospitalization with the public because he wanted to be treated as an equal. As for their friendship, she said McKaiser was always there for her.
“Eubi, go well my brother, my friend, gossiper-in-chief. The one who opened his big arms and ample shoulders to hold me, to gather me, to celebrate me. When I come up for air, I will have the grace to feel blessed that life had chosen me and your friends to call you a friend. It is not a gift that I will take for granted”, “Tlhabi said at the memorial.
Although her friend is no more, Tlhabi continues to reap the benefits of their friendship. She just bagged her degree, and its all thanks to McKaiser’s help.
“Hey @Eusebius I passed & got my degree. Thank you for your advice on chapter 2. I tightened it. You left after we discussed chapter 3: Russia’s tools of engagement with Africa. I got 77% for the dissertation. I did well babe. Thank you, okay? I love and miss you okay?”
