Terry Pheto’s Luxury Spacious Home Up for Auctioning. Towards the end of 2022, Terry Pheto found herself implicated in a hectic fraud scandal.
The multi-award winning actress’ good girl image was tainted when she was pointed out among other eight individuals accused of fraud relating to funding by the National Lotteries Commission. The accused allegedly defrauded the commission, a total of R25 million. The Special Investigating Unit thus obtained a high court preservation order to freeze nine luxury properties, cars, and two restaurants valued at about R25-million, belonging to various individuals. Among the implicated people include lawyers, an accountant, a former commissioner and a CEO for a group of hotels.
After a couple of days of trending on social media, Terry rubbished the rumors that she was involved in any fraud. As someone who holds the law in high regard, Terry expressed that she was shocked to find herself as the subject of a Special Investigating Unit for fraud allegations. She denied any involvement in the alleged scheme that has been reported on.
Well, she is trending yet again, after Special Investigating Unit shared on Twitter that Terry’s house is up for auctioning. According to SIU, the auction follows a preservation order granted by the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Pretoria, to the Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) and the SIU, on 4 November 2022 to freeze her Bryanston home.
The SIU further added, “investigations have found that the money used for the purchase of the land and construction of the home came from non-profit organizations that received NLC funding meant for the roll-out of a public campaign and culturally sensitive medical intervention projects aimed at achieving traditional circumcision practice.”
The spacious home is located in 77B Devonshire Avenue, Bryanston, Gauteng. It boasts, three Bedrooms, two Bathrooms, a Kitchen, an Open plan dining room with family room, a Lounge, the 3rd Bedroom can also be used as a Study/Office, a Large roof top garden with entertainment area, Double garage and a Maid’s quarters.
