Cornet Mamabolo Pens A Powerful Message As His Journey On The River Ends
Cornet Mamabolo Pens A Powerful Message As His Journey On The River Ends. A little over a month ago Cornet Mamabolo announced that he was joining The River. Now the talented actress is bidding the multi-award 1Magic telenovela goodbye.
In November, Cornet made his debut on The River as heartbroken yet out-for-revenge Lerumo. Before we knew it, he showed up his true colors, as the mysterious man killing the women of Refilwe Township. Lerumo was eventually killed by police commissioner Zweli Dikana (played by veteran actor, Hlomla Dandala).
Although Cornet’s role wasn’t really a fan favorite, many people loved how he came through as an actor. He displayed some great acting skills, that he will always be remembered for. For him as an actor, Cornet is grateful for the opportunity he got to do what he loves.
“As an actor… in most cases before you get your break through into the industry you just wish for a show or role that can get you out there, but then when you have gotten a handle of it then you start to really want to ACT. The child in you really wants to PLAY & EXPLORE, you pray for characters and stories just to get the child in you ALIVE,” Cornet said.
Speaking about Lerumo, he says it was that role that he knew he had to fall in love with in order for the audience to genuinely hate.
“It’s one of those roles that if the audience really love you for it then it simply means you have done a bad JOB as an actor. It’s a role that is exciting for an actor but distasteful for the audience. I’m happy that I had an opportunity to be a child again and play, to bring him to life. I feel so blessed to be trusted with such an amazing yet dark story,” he added.
Cornet is more grateful towards the production company, amazing directors that helped him with choices for the role. He also thanked colleagues who made it so easy for him to understand the world of the show. He also extended his gratitude to fans.
