Shudufhadzo Musida Makes It to Miss World Top 40
Shudufhadzo Musida Makes It to Miss World Top 40. In December 2021, the Miss World ceremony was postponed by organizers hours before it was set to begin on Friday morning. Because of the rising number of Covid-19 cases with some contestants also testing positive, the organizers made a last minute decision to postpone the beauty pageant to a later date.
This was a bit of a blow, more especially for us in South Africa since our representative Shudufhadzo Musida was doing amazing things in the competition. The Miss South Africa 2020 and author bagged herself the Beauty with a Purpose award, which was presented to her at the Miss World gala dinner. Her project focuses on mental health awareness, something she promoted throughout her Miss South Africa reign.
Miss World has just announced their Top 40 contestants, and our very own Shudu has made the cut. She is one of 15 beauty queens who received a fast track pass to proceed to the next round. There are other African queens who have secured a spot in Miss World Top 40. They include contestants from Botswana, Cameroon, Kenya and Cote D’IVoire.
The Miss World pageant will be taking place on 16 March 2022 in Puerto Rico, and we are hopeful that our queen will bring the crown home.
“I am so humbled to announce that I have made it to the Miss World Top 40,” Shudu said.
