Minnie Dlamini on How she Thinks Halloween Should Be Celebrated Here in SA. On Sunday the 31st of October, Americans will be celebrated one of their popular days on the calendar, Halloween. Although Halloween is not really observed in South Africa, this is one of those international we are slowly but surely adapting. Being trendsetters, our local celebrities are always a step ahead with Halloween parties as well as costumes.
Over the years, we have seen the likes of Bonang Matheba, Ayanda Thabethe, Thuli Phogolo, Connie Ferguson and other A-listers slay creative Halloween costumes. Some people though, will argue that we should leave certain things to Americans. They harshly criticize those who jump in the bandwagon. Having noted that, Minnie Dlamini has come up with a fabulous way in which we can have Halloween celebration, the Mzansi way.
The celebrated media personality, actress and entrepreneur jokingly said since, Halloween isn’t a thing in SA, we can instead have TKZee music group host an annual party where people can dress up if they wish. This is spot on, looking at the fact that TKZee’s very first album Halloween, which was dropped back in 1998, is one of the best musical projects to come out of this country. It’s also a win-win situation come to think of it. Mrs Jones is on the money here.
