Sad Note: The Kingdom Actor Thapelo Maropefela Dies. It’s a sad day for South Africa as we lose another young talent. Thapelo Maropefela, who many know as Kagiso from SABC1 drama series The Kingdom has sadly passed away.
Maropefela acted alongside veteran actress Nambitha Mpumlwana on the hit drama series which consisted of bible parables and stories about faith, hope, love and the work of realizing the best version of ourselves.
The 25-year-old died on Sunday, 24 October, according to his sister Kamo Maropefela who shared the news on social media. Kamo did not share the cause of his brother’s untimely passing, but chose to celebrate his life instead. She also asked for privacy as the family deals with the situation. Maropefela died on the eve of his 25th birthday, which makes the whole thing more tragic.
“Friends and Family, Unfortunately my little brother, Thapelo Maropefela, left us is the early hours of today. Please give my family and I some space to process and arrange everything Thank you, Loves,” Kamo tweeted.
Fans as well as colleagues took to social media to mourn and remember the late Maropefela.
