ICYMI: Zandi Nhlapo Makes Her Debut on Imbewu. Talk about a major comeback! Former SABC1 continuity presenter Zandi Nhlapo recently made her television comeback after years off the small screen. After 18 years off acting, the legendary Nhlapo returned to the industry with an acting gig Monday on the hit drama e.tv, Imbewu.
Nhlapo plays the role of Nompi Khanyeza, and it looks like we should embrace ourselves for fireworks. Nompi is Fikile’s mom, played by Phindile Gwala. She shows up in her daughter’s life to reveal an uncomfortable truth. Just like many mother and daughter relationship, their relationship has been strained due to her strict parenting style.
“It is with great excitement to announce that I have joined the IMbewu team in my new role as Nompi Khanyeza. Shooting has been the most amazing, fun & interesting journey. I’m loving every minute of it!
