10 Interesting Facts About The Miss Supranational Beauty Pageant. The most popular global beauty pageants are without a doubt Miss World and Miss Universe. Every pageant girl wish that some day they will represent their country at one of the prestigious contests. There is however another beauty pageant that is taking the world by storm. People now are starting to notice Miss Supranational, a beauty pageant which has been around for over 10 years.
- Miss Supranational is managed by the World Beauty Association S.A.. The first World Beauty Association president was Tryny Marcela Yandar Lobón, with Gerhard Parzutka von Lipinski from Poland as executive producer, and president of the production company Nowa Scena
2. The Miss Supranational contests began in 2009 and were held in Poland except 2013 which was in Minsk, Belarus, and 2016, which was co-hosted with Poprad, Slovakia.
3. Every year contestants from almost 80 countries participate in the contest which focuses on grace and natural beauty among its contestants. The pageant’s motto is: Glamour, fashion and natural beauty.
4. 2020 was the first year that the Miss Supranational contest was not held since its inception.The pageant was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with Nate Crnkovich from the United States retaining her title until the new queen was crowned.
5. South Africa has been sending representatives in the past years, but they were not using the Miss SA banner. In 2011 and 2012 South Africa walked away with the continental title.
6. This year, the Miss SA Organization sent their first representative Thato Mosehle to compete at Miss Supranational.
7. Thato, who was the first runner up at Miss SA 2020, did amazingly well, as she made it to Top 3 at the prestigious pageant which was held a few days ago.
8. Miss Supranational 2021 is Namibia’s Chanique Rabe who was crowned the queen at the 12th edition of the beauty pageant that took place in Malopolska, Poland on Saturday, 21 August.
9. The fashion designer and beauty queen made history as the first African woman ever to bring home the Miss Supranational title.
10. A parallel male contest, Mister Supranational, began in 2016, also in Poland, most recently involving 41 countries.
