Mmarona Motshegoa Bags A New Acting Gig. Congratulations are in order for the talented Mmarona Motshegoa. The actress, television presenter and entrepreneur has just bagged herself a new acting role. Motshegoa is now part of the SABC1 series, Family Secrets cast members.
Although she did not reveal a lot about her role, Motshegoa is grateful for the opportunity. Other new cast members on the show are actress and singer Simphiwe Ngema as well as Amos Ketlele. This season of Family Secrets stars the likes of Nimrod Nkosi, Mampho Brescia, Jamie Bartlett, Busiswa Mambi, Vusi Kunene, Bafana Mthembu, Buyile Mdladla, Nalini Subrayen, Cedric Fourie, Llewellyn Cordier, Benni Langa, Keaby Mashugane, Tumi Malefo, Angelique Gerber as well as Michael de Pinna.
Motshegoa began her acting career on the e.tv soapie Rhythm City in 2009, playing the role of Keke, a stylish, lesbian journalist. She is best known for her role as Tumi, a young township gold digger who is desperate to live in the suburbs and get out of poverty, in the SABC1 soccer drama series Zone 14.
She hosted five programmes on DStv’s Channel O music channel (during which time she was known simply as Minx): The 411, Oboma, Amplified, Oboma Xpress and O News. She also grew her radio broadcasting skills on Channel O Radio.
In 2012 she had a highly controversial guest recurring role on the SABC1 soapie Generations as Paulina (aka Banshee), a Goth who falls in love with MJ Memela. In 2014 she had a starring role in the SABC1 police drama series Task Force. In the same year she had a starring role in the SABC1 drama series Sticks and Stones.
In 2018 Motshegoa began playing the recurring role of Buhle on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango, making her first appearance on 4 April. She also had roles o 1Magic telenovela The River, as well as The Dream: Lebo Mathosa Story.
