Love Island South Africa Dragged For Lack of Diversity. The time that many have been waiting for is finally here. Love Island South Africa, popular British reality TV show, made it’s debut Sunday, 28 February at 20:00 on M-Net channel 101. In the special 90-minute premiere episode, the first set of sizzling hot singletons from across SA entered the luxurious Villa for a six-week bae-cation. 

These ten sexy love hopefuls have already coupled up and will live together all in the name of love and the chance to win R1 million in the process. Throughout the series, the Islanders will be forced to re-couple where they can choose (or be chosen) to remain in their current couple or swap and change, while also going on several dates, tasks, and challenges, in the quest to avoid being dumped from the Villa. 

Hosted by Leandie du Randt, Love Island South Africa, is already trending, but not for the right reasons. A lot of tweeps are not impressed with the lack of diversity on the show. There are only two blacks and two coloreds compared two the six white contestants on the Island. Because of this a lot of people have started calling the show, Love Island Orania, after a South Africa town that has only white residents, and uses their own currency. Others consoled themselves with Moja Love TV channel, which caters for the black community in most cases.
