Manaka Ranaka Marks A Full Year Since the Untimely Passing of Her Daughter Katlego. Losing a loved one to death is the most devastating thing. It doesn’t help that there are reminders such as the death anniversary, birthdays and every significant milestone that keep son taking one back.
Manaka Ranaka knows the pain very well, as she lost her first born Katlego a year ago. Katlego passed away from natural causes on the 23rd of January 2025. The reality show star and singer’s death devastated fans who had grown to love her from The Ranakas reality show. Her funeral, held on 1 February, saw touching tributes from loved ones, including family members. She left behind her son, mother and siblings.
The family has went through important events that needed her presence. Just before her passing, Katlego finished her Diploma in Animal Production Ekurhuleni Agricultural College. Her mother Manaka had to pluck out all the courage to attend her graduation at the college. It was such an emotional day for Manaka, and everyone who was in attendance. Another significant event that happened in Katlego‘s absence was her 25th birthday, this past November. To mark the milestone, Manaka wished her a happy birthday, and opened up about the pain of her first birthday after her death. On the day, the family unveiled Katlego’s tombstone, and celebrated her life. This past festive season holidays, were also the first, without her presence.
Today, is another reminder of Katlego’s passing. It is the first anniversary of her passing. Manaka once again has to put on a brave face, to take to social media. The veteran actress and TV personality updated her online family, and stated that the journey continues.
“Today marks a year without our beloved KG🕊 and the journey continues,” Manaka said.
