Applications Open for the Department of Human Settlements 2026 Scholarship Programme. The Department of Human Settlements invites qualifying young people to apply for the 2026 Scholarship Programme. This opportunity is open to prospective students who wish to pursue studies in the following fields:

• Architecture / Architectural Technology
• Construction Management / Construction Science
• Civil Engineering
• Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
• Town & Regional Planning / Urban & Rural Studies
• Quantity Surveying / Land Surveying / Building Surveying

Eligibility

• Be a South African citizen
• Have very good Matric results
• Be a young first‑time university student (this is for students who haven’t earned a degree yet)
• Show that you need help paying for school

What the Scholarship Covers:

• Registering for courses
• Paying tuition
• Buying textbooks and other learning materials
• Living in the university dorms
• Eating at the campus canteen

What the Scholarship Doesn’t Cover:

• Monthly allowance,
• Transport costs,
• Photocopying
• Bridging courses
• Membership affiliations
• Laundry services
