Zikhona Sodlaka Reacts to Hosting the South African Launch of Women in Film & Television

Zikhona Sodlaka Reacts to Hosting the South African Launch of Women in Film & Television. It’s always heartwarming when certain hosting duties are given to someone who is in that particular industry. This just happened to Zikhona Sodlaka who bagged the Women in Film & Television South African launch.
Announcing the WIFT South Africa hosting gig, Zikhona stated that this is an honor. She takes the task as a responsibility that she carries with pride. The multi-award winning actress also reflected on her two decade in the industry. Zikhona also took the moment to give credit to every woman who has had an impact on her journey.
“I am deeply honoured to announce that I will be hosting the launch of WIFT South Africa, in partnership with the African Rising International Film Festival (ARIFF).
As I reflect on my two decades in the film, television, and theatre industry, I am reminded of the women who have walked with me, inspired me, taught me, and held the door open when it was easier to close it. This moment feels like a celebration of that sisterhood — and a call to build even stronger bridges for the next generation.
WIFT SA represents something powerful: women collaborating, championing one another, and shaping an African industry that works as one. An industry where our stories, our leadership, and our collective strength create the future we want to see.
To host this important milestone is not just an honour — it’s a responsibility I carry with pride.
Here’s to women rising together.
Here’s to Africa creating as one,” Zikhona said.
