Somizi Achieves Another Milestone As A Fashion Designer. When it comes to exploring the creative industry, no one does it like Somizi. He has done acting TV and radio presenting, reality shows, event hosting, choreography, among so many other ventures.
About a year ago, Somizi ventured into the fashion designer. He started off by opening up his Sompire clothing store. The store catered for kids, but as time went on, adults outfits were also sold. Somizi eventually launched himself as a fashion designer. He made his debut in the field by designing Moshe Ndiki’s outfit for the 18th METRO FM Music Awards, in 2024. This year, Somizi once again dressed another celebrity at the METRO FM Music Awards, Zola Mhlongo. She looked outstanding in a dress, made by her friend and colleague Somizi.
A few weeks back, Somizi was one of the designers who showcased their work at the Durban Fashion Fair. Some of his models included Mihlali Ndamase, Bahumi, Minnie Dlamini, Zola, Baby Cele, Yaya Mavundla, Sorisha Naidoo, Kelly Khumalo, Babalwa Mneno and Sithelo Shozi.
A week ago, Somizi announced another project, designing for Judith Sephuma for her album cover shoot. Just when his fans were celebrating that, Somizi has smashed another goal in the world of fashion. He recently designed two matric dance dresses for happy clients. Somizi is looking forward to achieving more, and we are quite confident that his wishes will become a reality.
“Last month I did my first 2 matric dance dresses. Here’s to many more unforgettable experiences,” Smizi gushed.
