Levels! Mmabatho Montsho Makes Part of the Jury Panel of An International Film Festival. Congratulations are in order for Mmabatho Montsho, on her latest achievement. She has been selected as part of the jury, at the Encounters South African International Documentary Festival.
The just started festival is the country’s formative documentary event, screening contemporary local and International features and short documentaries. Montsho and her panel, will adjudicate in the Encounters Al Jazeera Award for Best International Documentary.
“We’re honoured to welcome Mmabatho Montsho to the 2025 jury panel. A multidisciplinary filmmaker, award-winning writer-director, and visual artist, Montsho is a passionate advocate for social justice whose work boldly centres the voices of women and children,” Encounters Festival announced.
The festival went on to sing Montsho ‘s praises highlighting her achievements. This includes curating and directing the Human Rights Film Festival and Basha Uhuru Film Festival for Constitution Hill. She also served on the boards of the Documentary Filmmakers Association of South Africa and the Documentary Filmmakers Awards, and represents DFA on the South African Screen Federation Council. The international award winning producer’s judging credentials include the International Emmy Awards, SAFTAs, Wits Student Film Awards, and the WGSA Muse Awards.
The likes of Penny Lebyane, Mondli Makhoba, Mbuso Khoza, Khosi Ngema and many industry peers congratulated Montsho on her gig.
