Applications Open for the Transnet Young Professional-in-Training (Heritage) Programme.
Position Purpose
- Transnet Corporate Centre and Academy is looking for dynamic and recently qualified graduates for a two-year programme (24 months programme).
- This programme will provide the incumbents with relevant workplace experience through a structured learning programme and organizational support.
Position Outputs
- Delivering specific tasks within a work-stream/department
- Shadowing various staff members,
- Participating in learning experiences,
- Attending meetings and workshops, with exposure to other working functions within procurement
- Communicate with customers to ensure a clear understanding of their needs. This includes level of urgency as well as keeping them updated on a regular basis on the progress of their requirements.
- Serve as the central contact point for supplier and end user queries and ensure that queries are addressed in a satisfactory and timeous manner
- Provide general administrative, research and assistance.
- Take work briefs / instructions from Mentor and / or Specialist to structure work required to produce specific project or deliverable
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or National Diploma in Heritage studies, Fine Art, History, Curatorship, Visual Studies, and/or related Humanities discipline.
- 0-1 year working experience
- Ms Office Packages
- Preference will be given to applicants considered as South African Youth (under the age of 35).
Competencies
- Good written and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Proficient in Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Attention to details
- The ability to work well within a team; problem-solving and pays attention to detail
