Social Media Reacts to Reports of Lesego Marakalla’s Return to Skeem Saam. Lesego Marakalla made a name for herself when she was cast on Skeem Saam over a decade ago. The award winning actress played the iconic role of Rachel Kunutu.

Lesego has been with the hit educational drama from its premier in 2011, up until 2020. Her character Rachel, did everything she could to live the life that she believed her late father could have given her. Many have even dubbed her the queen of soft life, or Slay Queen. In the process of getting the taste of the good life, Rachel fought with her family and close to her. She ended up marrying a rich older man, Marothi Maphuthuma, and the marriage was toxic.

Good thing also come to an end, and so did Rachel character on Skeem Saam. Her departure from the show, saddened viewers, who have grown to like her. Lesego cited an intention to take a break from acting and return to school full time. After a short while though, she returned to the small screen with a new role. Lesego joined the formidable cast of Generations: The Legacy, playing Thuso. Her character came as Winston’s partner in crime and came through with the much needed drama.

According to a statement from SABC1, Rachel is back, together with her man Marothi. She will make her much anticipated return on the 10th of June, while Marothi will be back on the 13th of the same month.

“It feels so good to be back. It’s not only about me but is also about my supporters who appreciate my craft. They have been asking me when I will be returning to Skeem Saam. I am happy to say that they will see me back on-screen, playing Rachel very soon,” Lesego said.

As expected Skeem Saam fans are excited that their fave is coming back.
