Jo-Anne Reyneke Stands In Solidarity With Struggling Actors

Jo-Anne Reyneke Stands In Solidarity With Struggling Actors. She may be booked and busy, but still Jo-Anne Reyneke shows empathy to fellow actors who are not finding it easy. She joined the film and television professionals who protested in Cape Town against the state for crippling the industry.
On Wednesday, 28 January local film and television workers gathered outside Parliament in Cape Town where they protested against the industry’s decline. This includes actors, producers, technicians, writers, crew members and other professionals across the industry. They called for immediate government intervention to address the sector’s current instability.
The protest was called in response to what the Save SA Film Jobs coalition described as “paralysis” inside the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC). This is said to have negatively impacted the Film and Television Production Incentive and triggered a collapse in production activity across the sector. Jo-Anne joined the protesters, who wore all black outfits holding placards. The multi-award winning actress stated that it was a great feeling standing in solidarity with her industry peers.
“Such a great feeling to be standing in solidarity with these artists! Enough is enough!!! WE NEED WORK!!! ACTORS DESERVE TO BE ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR FAMILIES!!!” Jo-Anne said.
